Director: KATE LOECHEL Diploma of Dance Teaching & Management
Kate started participating in dance classes at the local dance school when she was five.
By the time Kate was 13 years old she was asked to start teaching local children in her small home town of Moyhu; and so, Wangaratta District Studio of Dance was born!
In 2001, Kate was selected to represent Australia in Japan in a dance troupe gaining valuable experience on an International level. This meant travelling to Melbourne weekly before heading overseas.
In 2003, Kate successfully auditioned for the Senior Melbourne Dance Ensemble for 'Joining the Chorus' and performed at the launch of the Commonwealth Games logo at Federation Square, and for an audience of 10,000 at Rod Laver Arena. This also meant travelling every weekend to Melbourne for rehearsals, as well as conducting WDSOD classes.
After completing her VCE Kate was accepted in Box Hill Institute's Diploma of Dance (Teaching & Management) course.
In 2006, Kate moved her dance studio in to Wangaratta and started teaching dance full time.
Kate believes to be a good dance teacher, you need experience, education and most of all a passion for dance, and is happy to be able to offer this to children of the Noth East region.
Kate teaches Jazz, Classical, Funk, Contemporary, Neo-Classical, Private lessons & Pre-Primary Classes at WDSOD
